Merry Christmas From Blue Heron Whitewater

A Snowy French Broad River Happy Holidays to all from everyone here at Blue Heron Whitewater. Looks like we are going to have at least a partially white Christmas this year. There's still like eight inches of snow at the outpost and the hills are still sledable. The French Broad River is gorgeous with snow blanketing the trees and it is tempting to take a raft out and float down the river. Maybe tomorrow. Now I think I'll just sit by the fire with a cup of coffee and a book, a magazine, and an x-box controller.
Now that the end of the year is fast approaching it isTaking off the Tin - Aluminum Actually time for us here at Blue Heron Whitewater to give some serious thought to next years whitewater rafting season on the French Broad River. Our focus right now is what to do with the outpost. We moved in mid-season this past summer and were very happy with our new location. Both in how it works logistically for running our white water rafting trips and float trips, and the usability of the land for an outpost. We had a sweet raft barn on the top floor of an The Roof Will Be Reused or Recycledold chicken house that allowed us to load rafts directly to the top of a bus, and our thoughts were running along the line of keeping and refurbishing the chicken house as our entire outpost with store, bathrooms, and changing rooms (it's a big chicken house). Unfortunately, and after much thought and consultation with experts, it has been decided that the chicken house must come down and that we will build a new outpost at that location. So if you are interested in any chicken coops or lumber from the The Raft Barn We Hardly Got to Knowtobacco barn give us a call. We have started taking off the roof and will continue with the deconstruction when the snow melts. Stay tuned for further developments.
If you have any questions about any of our trips or the barn give us a call at 888-h2o-raft (426-7238), or you can check out our website at www.BlueHeronWhitewater.com.
